FAQ

The honest answers.

What you actually want to know before you pay. If something here doesn't cover it, email hello@vrolu.com — a real person reads it.

How much does Vrolu cost?

Launch pricing: $19.99 per trip for the first 100 trips (or first 90 days, whichever comes first). Standard: $24.99 per trip after that. Either way, one time, no subscription, no per-traveler charge. The trip stays live for its whole lifecycle — you don't pay again when the weekend ends. You only pay when you're ready to publish the shareable link.

Do my travelers need to install an app?

No app. Travelers open the link from the group chat in their phone's browser and see the whole plan — flights, events, addresses, reminders. No App Store. One quick sign-in with their email (auto-provisioned from the invite link — no separate signup form to fill out) so the trip data stays private to the group, not exposed to anyone who guesses the URL.

Can I edit the trip after I publish it?

Yes — add flights, add events, change reservation times, fix a typo. Edits go live instantly on the shareable link, no re-publish or extra payment. The group always sees the current plan.

What if a flight changes mid-trip?

Vrolu watches flight status through FlightAware — delays, gate changes, departures, arrivals get pushed to the dashboard in near-real time. Anyone in the group who opted into notifications gets an email; everyone else sees the latest status the next time they open the link.

How accurate is the flight tracking?

We use FlightAware's live AeroAPI feed — the same data stream that powers commercial flight-tracking boards. It's accurate enough that "Becky's flight just got delayed 40 minutes" will be true on the dashboard before the gate agent finishes the announcement. Edge cases (small regional carriers, charter flights) can be slower or unavailable; the dashboard shows when data is stale.

What counts as "publishing" a trip?

Publishing turns on the public /t/{slug} link, registers live flight updates with our upstream provider, and lets travelers subscribe to notifications. Before you publish, the trip is a private draft only you can see. The publish fee ($19.99 launch / $24.99 standard) is the flip from draft to live.

What's your refund policy?

Vrolu is a small one-person operation and we don't have a self-serve refund tool yet. If the product broke for you, the trip got cancelled, or you paid by mistake, email hello@vrolu.com — we'll make it right.

What about my privacy — email, flight data?

We collect what we need to run the product: your email for your account, the flight numbers and traveler names you enter, and the email addresses of travelers who opt into notifications. We don't sell data, we don't run ad trackers on travelers, and the public trip page is unindexed by default. Unsubscribe links are one tap from any email we send.

What if my Stripe payment fails?

Stripe will show the specific reason at checkout (declined card, expired, address mismatch). The trip stays in draft — nothing breaks — and you can retry with a different card. Nothing gets charged until a payment actually succeeds.

Are there iOS and Android apps?

Not yet. V1 is web-only, which is by design — travelers should never need to install anything to see the plan. A native iPhone app is coming in v1.5 for the organizer who wants a real home-screen icon and native push. Android is a v2 conversation. We'll announce when iOS ships.
